Day 1: Arusha – Arusha National Park(38km – 45 minutes)

Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at around 07:30am and drive on a tarmac road 38km to Arusha National Park (552 Km2) with Lunch Packed. Over 400 species recorded in such a small park is quite an impressive count. A combination of the forest reserve, the Momella Lakes and the Ngurdoto crater does the magic. A closer look at the birds can be arranged with a walking Safari or canoeing. Over 400 species recorded in such a small park is quite an impressive count. Momella Lake is one of the best places in Tanzania to see waterbirds, flamingo, pelican, little grebe, a variety of herons, ducks and waders are common. Also Hart lab, turaco, eagles, Lesser & Greater Flamingos, p orchards, geese, hammer Kop, red shark, spur winged goose, woodpecker, secretary bird, grey parrot. Other animals such as Zebras, Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Water bucks, Colo bus monkey, Verve t monkeys, Baboons and many others reside here. Dinner and overnight at Arumeru Lodge. Day 2: Arusha National Park – Tarangire National Park(120km – 2 hours)

Breakfast at 0600am. Pick up from Duluti Serena Lodge at 07:00am and drive on a tarmac road 120Km (Approx. 2 hrs) to Tarangire National Park (2,850 Km2) with packed lunch. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. Keep an open eye for Yellow collared lovebirds, Ashy starling, Rufus tailed weaver. On drier ground you find the Kori bastard, the heaviest flying bird, the stocking-thigh ed ostrich, the world’s largest bird and small parties of ground horn bills blustering like turkeys. Other animals such as Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Wildebeests, Elands, Impala, Pythons, Warthogs, Mongoose and many others reside here. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge. Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park(70km – 1 hours)

Breakfast at 0600am. Pick up from Tarangire Sopa Lodge at around 06:30am and drive on a tarmac road to Lake Manyara National Park (330 Km2) on the base of the Great Rift Valley, for the game drives. More than 400 species have been recorded; highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration as well as other large water birds such as Pelicans, Storks and Cormorants. A narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. The park’s have a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. The park is home to Lion, Hippo, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more…About 350 species of birds have been recorded. Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti National Park(205km – 4 hours)

Breakfast at 0600am. Pick up from the Lodge at around 06:30am and drive on a tarmac road 60 Km (Approx. 1 hr) to Olduare gate, then on a rough road 145 Km (Approx. 3 hrs) through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park (14,763 Km2) with packed lunch. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. More than 500 species have been recorded on this endless carpet of grasses. Ostrich, Secretary bird, Kori bustard, Ground horn bill, Guineafowl, Crowned crane, Herons & egrets, Storks, Ibises & spoonbills, Hamerkop, Cormorants & darters, African jacana. A full 100 varieties of dung beetle have been recorded, plus bird species, ranging from the outsized ostrich and bizarre secretary bird of the open grassland, to the black eagles that soar effortlessly above the Lobo Hills. Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Very early morning game drive. Gaudy agama lizards and rock hyrax scuffle around the surfaces of the park’s isolated granite koppies. Go fetching for the Verreoux’s eagle, Fish eagle, Vultures, Auger buzzard, Horn bills, Turacos & go-away birds etc. Breakfast at the Lodge at around 09:00am and continue exploring what these endless plains have to offer. Keep on the lookout for large raptors such as Lappet faced vultures, White backed vultures or Rüppell’s griffon vultures soaring in the open blue sky. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. If lucky enough you can catch an action from the predators such as Lions and witness how the scavenging vultures steal their meals. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Lobo Wildlife Lodge. Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater(145km – 3 hours)

Wake up early in the morning to catch up with the magnificent sunrise and sing with the early risers of the Savannah birds. An early bird catches the worm. Cuckoos, Kingfishers, Bee-eaters, Woodpeckers, Honey guides, Barbet, Swifts & swallows, Weavers, Sun birds, Wax bills & howdahs. Your guide points to a pride of lions prowling amongst antelope following in their wake. Mythical looking giraffes gliding by in the near distance. After few hours of game drive, drive back to the Lodge for your breakfast and proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation with your Packed Lunch. Olduvai Gorge, in northern Tanzania, is internationally recognized for Louis and Mary Leakey’s famous discoveries of early humans and magnificent antiquities documenting the evolutionary history of our stone tool-using ancestors, vertebrate fauna, and the environments over the last two million years. Day 7: Ngorongoro Cater Floor – Kilimanjaro Airport(240km – 4 hours)

After Breakfast at 0600am. Descend 610 meters deep into the Africa’s Garden of Eden, with over 500 species recorded both the Ngorongoro highlands and the crater offer excellent birding. Keep on the lookout for Grey crowned cranes, Lesser flamingos in the Lake Magadi, and the displaying Kori bastards. Watch out! For the Black kites snatching peoples lunches off their hands. Bird life is also amazing inside the crater, with aquatic birds like flamingos cormorants, Egyptian geese, ibises among others. Other birds include hammer Kops, weavers, starlings and many more. The crater is also a home to Black Rhinos, Lions, Hyenas, Wildebeests, Zebras, Hippos, Elands and many more other animals. Ngorongoro has a prolific bird life in a beautiful setting surrounded by outstanding highland natural beauty, volcanoes mantled with tropical rain forest. After hours of game drive, ascend the crater floor and drive to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home/Zanzibar. Meal Plan: {B, L}.
